Laser Cut

Acrylic Sally Lamp

This is a fun project for Halloween. I absolutely love The Nightmare Before Christmas so why not.

It started with an image.

I found a lovely image of Sally online from an anonymous artist. I then traced the outline of it on Figma to create a vector art as SVG for laser cutting.

The cutting was in progress.

I was nervously and excitedly waiting for the first piece to be cut out. I didn’t know what it would look like when I put it on the lamp.

Trial and error.

It's hard to succeed on the first try. The first version had excessive raster engraving, which impaired its functionality as a lamp. In the second version, a fragile part at the rose caused the leaf to break. However, the third version turned out perfectly. Additionally, the image for laser cutting was flipped to ensure that the shinier side faces outward for viewing.

Et voila!

The final result looked great. My favourite one was the red lighting.
